The Flathead River is on the rise again, but the guides are finding some success.  At this point it is day to day depending on the weather. The river is high, but the color is pretty good with decent visibility. If we go a few days without rain up in the headwaters, the river fishes very well.  A little rain causes the flows to increase and the fishing slows down.

Clarkfork River

The Clark Fork river offers many miles of superb Montana fly fishing—from its headwaters in the Deer Lodge Valley all the way to its confluence with the Flathead River near St. Regis, Montana. Our guided Clark Fork river fly fishing trips are primarily on the upper reaches above Missoula and the lower stretches of the river near St. Regis.

Depending on the time of year an angler can experience some of the most rewarding (and sometimes challenging) dry fly fishing in western Montana on the Clark Fork river. What can be more rewarding than throwing big, bushy dry flies and hooking in to large, healthy fish? The river is big, the fish are big and strong, and the scenery is spectacular too.
